ANNOUNCEMENT of Connellsville Area School District’s Board of School Directors' Approved, Pennsylvania Department of Education Health and Safety Plan for Phased Reopening Schools

On or about March 29th, CASD may tentatively return to five days a week face-to-face instruction (pending CASD Board action). In an effort to provide our counselors, teachers, support staff, administrators, and board of directors with data to make informed decisions, we are asking all families to complete one survey per student.

Spring sports physicals will be given on Tuesday, February 23 at CAHS and Thursday, February 25 at CAMS. Physical packets must be completed to get a physical on these dates. Anyone missing these dates will need to get a physical from their own doctor at their own expense.

On December 16, the Board of School Directors approved that all CASD buildings would remain closed for students and instruction would be delivered online until January 11, 2021.

In an effort to consistently update our community on our ability to provide Face to Face education in our District, we wanted to share that we have not had any cases of COVID-19 that apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Recommendations for Pre-K to 12 Schools Following Identification of a Case(s) of Covid-19

Over the course of the Monday November 23, 2020 school day, CASD was made aware of eight additional confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the District: three at Connellsville Area Career & Technical Center, four at Connellsville Area Middle School, and one at the administration building.

On November 9, 2020, at approximately 8:35pm, CASD was notified of one
case of confirmed positive COVID-19 of a driver employed by a transportation contractor. All CASD schools will continue to operate in our four day face-to-face model with Wednesday remaining virtual for all students.
