6th Grade Science Syllabus

Be Respectful. Be Responsible

Goals:

1. Students will further develop an interest in learning about various aspects of science.
2. Students will extend his/her abilities and talents as a science student by participating in many hands-on activities.
3. Students will be able to give examples of how thinking scientifically is helpful in everyday life.
4. Students will be able to relate the content they learn in class to real life experiences.
5. Students will further develop technological skills and use them in the science class.

1. Physical Science
1. Unit E Matter and Energy
2. Unit F Forces and Machines

1. Life Science
1. Unit A Understanding Living Things
2. Unit B Living Things Grow and Respond

1. Earth Science
1. Unit C The Living Planet
2. Unit D Cycles in Earth and Space

All students will be required to keep a science folder.  After each chapter, folders will be collected and graded.  

There will be various test, quizzes, and experiments throughout the year.
